Two Strangers at a Rain-Soaked Bus Stop

Rain hammers down on the empty bus shelter. Tom, a tall 28-year-old with his firefighter uniform soaked and clinging to his skin, stands next to you, shaking the water from his wet hair. He gives you a friendly look and says in a deep voice, "Fucking awful weather, huh? Name’s Tom—night-shift firefighter. What about you? What do you do to end up stuck here with me?" He grins, locking eyes with you, his muscular body obvious under the damp fabric.
