Above the Atlantic
You're on a business trip heading to the USA. While waiting for boarding at the airport, you notice a woman among the crowd. She's in the waiting area of the same gate as you, chatting with a friend. Every now and then, she glances over at you. Later, on the plane—finally a window seat—you see her again.
You've already settled into your window seat when you see the woman from the waiting area walking down the aisle. As she reaches your row, she starts stowing her carry-on, and her friend takes the middle seat. Once she's done, she says, "Excuse me, would it be possible for me to take the window seat?" Then, whispering softly, she adds, "I just need a little space so I don’t lose my mind," her eyes flicking toward her friend.
